Baskin Robbins Finale at Publika

Got off the train from Ipoh and up on the bus in time before it left for 1Utama. Yuki picked me up from there but I was late due to unforseen JAM! Well, what's new KL?

Was supposed to arrive before 8pm but we got there a little later, at 8.10pm. At least we got a parking right away. Otherwise, we would have been even later! Lined up at the registration counter and got our T-Shirts! We had pink t-shirts in support to Huai Bin's Cookies and Cream campaigne! We got changed and camwhored in the washroom before heading back to the Square for the event.

Here's a picture of the event! People mountain people sea! Why? Because there were FREE FLOW ICE CREAM by Baskin Robbins ALL NIGHT!!!

Here's a random other blogger queuing up in front of us which had "All you need is MORE ice cream!" written on his shirt.

The Emcee of the night, I believe is Liang, turns out to be a musician. He is quite a good singer and pianist.

As Yuki and I queued up for our free flow ice cream for dinner, Huai Bin approached me, asking me how fast I could gulp down ice cream. I never did know how to reply him as I have never eaten Ice cream in a fast pace before. He asked me to join him for the ice cream eating competition and I accepted that challenge as he had given me free ice cream and ice cream cake previously. How can I turn down help that is needed? HAHA!!! Diet for 1 month, DEAD! LOL!!! Here's us on stage!!!
Photobucket
The challenge is for the 5 teams of 3. We were supposed to eat as much as we could in 2 minutes. I wan't paying attention to the rules so I thought we were supposed to eat as fast as we could and the winner would be the one who finished first. Here's a video...

In the end, we FINISHED everything in about 1 and a half minutes and everyone cheered!!! Then did I know we were just supposed to eat as much as possible in 2 minutes instead of just finishing it. Huai Bin said the sponsors were even thinking about refilling our cups of ice cream!!! WOW!!! Thinking back, it was them that did all that fast work. They just gulped the whole scoop into their mouths! I tried but apparently my mouth wasn't wide enough... Here's our victory pictures!!!

After all that work, we won 31 Baskin Robbins vouchers! We divided them and got 10 each. Huai Bin got 11 as a leader.

There were a few more eating contests after ours and Yuki was crazy enough to ask me to enter again. My tummy was already bloated and feeling funny after all that swallowing of ice creams. I didn't even think of eating another scoop of ice cream from the free flow eventuntil more than half an hour later! Unlike Serge, my other team mate who took a cup right after, and another after an hour or so!!!

In the end of the event, the results were out! Guess who won??? IT was Proudduck with her Pralines and Cream. Therefore, Malaysia is going to enjoy Free Upsize with purchase of Double Junior Scoop ice cream on weekdays from 10am - 3pm for a whole year starting Monday!!!!!!

My Winter Lover experience

I have previously bought some Groupon coupons which were on sale and it was something to do with crepe cakes!!! Do you have any idea what crepe cakes are? I too never heard of it until last yea on my trip to Melaka! Everyone told me to try the Nadeje crepe cake and believe me, it was just like heaven! Now, I found a new shop in KL, which happens to be behind my shop in Kota Damansara! I bought my coupon for only RM9.90 and it was inclusive of a crepe cake and a drink!

The crepe cake offered at Winter Lover is not as good as Nadeje, perhaps because it's new but it is not that bad neither. The place is quite comfortable too. Take a look at some of the pictures I took!

My trip down from Genting...

Woke up at 11am this morning just because I had to check out. If only I could check out after 3pm without any extra charges. I had trouble sleeping last night, waking up every two hours or so. Perhaps coffee really is kicking into my mind finally. I never really had a problem with coffee keeping me up but I guess age has gotten a toll on me?

Took a long hot shower and packed up before dragging my heavy ass luggage down to the lobby. I had a choice to either drag the luggage with me everywhere I went (since I planned not to head to the Casino today anyway) or leave it at the luggage area in the lobby. Since I had quite a lot of valuables in my bag, I decided not to risk it and just took it along to window shop around First World...

Saw a Nike outlet store and true enough the things in there were quite cheap! However, as tempted as I was to buy a pair of shoes and 2 tees, I reminded myself that I had to save up for my trip to Singapore in December. I have already overspent through the month of November and who knows? I might just need to budget in my Singapore trip. :(

It felt like forever for the time to pass. I walked in and out of First World, feeling tired. Then, I came up with the idea that there would be a lot to see at the Skyway to the other side! Which was what I remembered... I walked to the Skyway and it was CLOSED for MAINTENANCE! I paid for Skyway and the only way down to the bus was via the free bis services. I don't get why I needed to pay for the Skyway in the first place then!

Walked to the bus terminal at First World and took a bus down. Guess what? There was nothing there! The floors above were all closed! I was stuck there since 3pm. I walked up and down again and even the policeman asked me :"Ah Moi, pergi mana? Jalan sini sana masuk keluar aje?" I smiled and told him I was just too bored and was there too early...

I hopped on the bus at 4pm, which was 2 hours before my actual bus since it wasn't full and the person who took my ticket allowed me to. Therefore, I arrived back to KL early at 5pm.

There is one thing I need to complain about. That's the bus driver! He seemed to be in a rush when I got on the bus. I nearly tripped on my jacket and fell. He drove a little then stopped since there were still people rushing up to the bus. What's his problem? He just got to the station and rushed us all into the bus and not wait til all of us got seated! The two old folks behind me nearly fell too as they were still walking on the aisle! How long would it take to wait for them to be seated? It was him that was late. So why are we paying the price for having to rush up the bus?

As I got back to 1Utama, I dragged my luggage and walked home. I was so exhausted as I got home that I KO'ed right after I hit the bed and got up only at about 8 something! I was so tired I even skipped dinner without realizing...

It was a very interesting single trip up to Genting for a concert. I will definitely do it again if I get to watch JJ Lin or Missy Elliott perhaps? HEHE^^

Jolin's Concert at Genting!!!

Woke up at 7am in the morning to get ready and have some DimSum with my mom before she dropped me off at the Genting Van shop in town. Yes, I am heading to Genting once again on my own...

I'm starting to get the hang of travelling alone... Not forgetting my trip to Singapore in December  ALONE! It's like a single travel trip every month since October. FML. Forever Alone...
Photobucket

Photobucket

Arrived Genting at about 11am, checked into my room with a view, which didn't give me a difference since I wasn't going to spend my whole trip sulking in the room anyway... Then walked down to the theme park area and purchased my ticket.

Little did I know that I would get a 10% off for being a member at RWGenting! RM45 instead of RM50. I was hesitant at first whether to go today or tomorrow, but since the sky looked clear for today, I'd rather not risk the chance of getting rain tomorrow.
Photobucket

Walked into the theme park taking pictures along the way.

Walked to the First Roller Coaster ride which was under maintainence. It used to be my usual first ride thing since it's like a warm up. Moved on to the swing ride which spins you around at a fast speed... I have to admit I am getting a little old for it already as I felt dizzy after getting off!

Walked around and head on to the Ferris Wheel. The main point was just to snap more photos of the surroundings.

If there's one thing I hate, it would be people cutting the queue. If you do not like the queue, go and purchase the express ticket! Don't go cutting the queue just because someone was dreaming ahead and u pretending like they won't notice the person in front is so much ahead already! The 3 boys were so horrible. I wanted to tell them off but since the guy that cut in front of didn't say anything, I couldn't neither, since I was still ahead of them. Just like MTV World Stage, I got pictures of the culprits. BEWARE!!! THE QUEUE CUTTING POLICE IS HERE!!!
Photobucket

Photobucket

Next up was Dinosaur Land!!! I wanted to take the ride but it was stated there that I would have to wait for more than an hour, so I left and headed for the Corkscrew ride instead. It is still by far the best ride I have taken in Genting.

After, I went to the Pirate ship and was daring enough to sit way at the back. The impact was really something! It was really fun! Like the adrenalin rush and all... WEE!!! I really felt like a kid today...
Photobucket

Continued walking on to find the Flying Dragon ride but to no avail. Instead, I found a few places I have never seen or visited before! Those places allowed me to take more pictures and also camwhored by using self-timer! Talk about the Road Less Travelled...

Finally gave up and walked out the Exit, where I asked the guy where the Flying Dragon ride was. Turns out, the ride was all the way inside, indoors!  I queued up for my ride, noticing it was an indoor ride and I should be paying extra RM8 for it but since no one in front of me was saying anything about their pass neither, I decided to remain silent. The ride was quite nice but the cornerings were a little rough though. I hit myself against the metal bars once in a while as it cornered and I got some bruises from it too.... I have got a video from the ride!!! Risky but what the heck...
Photobucket

Walked to the 4D movie area and was stupid enough to ask the girl if I had to pay. Should have remained silent like the Dragon Ride. She would have just let me pass but I was so stupid to let her check my OUTDOOR pass...

Was feeling lazy and tired from the few hours of lining up and walking. Took a few pictures before going back to the hotel and snoozed til 6pm.
Photobucket

Photobucket

Took a shower, headed down to First World Lobby and walked outdoors towards the Arena of Stars. Here's some pictures of the outdoor theme park as I walked past.
Photobucket

Photobucket

I know it was a little early as i arrived there at about 7.30pm. Jolin's concert didn't start until 8.30pm!!! I was just feeling lazy and sat at my seat until it started.
Photobucket

The concert started with a Malaysian Drum group.
Photobucket

The concert was the bomb!!! She danced whole night, interacted a lot with the audience, sang all the songs I was familiar with and ended the concert with the one song I last performed in public at a beach party years ago!!! How I wanted to just jump on stage and dance with her right there and then!!! It brought back so much memories... Time for some pictures and videos!!!

Besides her, there were also some local Malaysian performers on stage tonight. There was a group of dancers called "Tren". Not forgetting the ballet dancer of the night, Elaine Chiam from Project Elementz!!! Please enjoy the videos!!!

Not long after, the concert ended. How I wished it would go on til forever. Jolin is so hot in person and she really has the stamina to dance and sing at the same time!!! I wonder where she gets all that energy!!!

The last song she sang brought back a lot of memories. My dance crew and I performed that particular song at a Beach Party years ago in Ipoh. That was our biggest, most happening public performance we have done together. I just wanted to hop on the stage with her at that very moment!!!

After dropping off everything in my room, I walked down to the casino to play with some slots. I won RM30 and learnt to run. Cashed out the money and got myself my free Starbucks drink and also croissant for tomorrow's breakfast before I headed the sack. One must learn not to be greedy but be thankful for what you have got. Right?
