My 1st Holiday Trip Alone... for my bday

I have always wanted to go for a vacation alone some place where it would be safe. I have never gone anywhere (except Singapore) alone, walking around people that I don't know.

This year, I had no plans for my birthday, therefore I made it a year where I go for a short vacation some place before my birthday and get back to my family on my birthday to celebrate with them. It's been years since I last celebrated my exact birthday with my family. I have always celebrated with my "boyfriend"s and friends at clubs and all for the past few years.

After being Solo, if you know what I mean, I have realized that my family is still the closest I will ever have. Of course there are some new close friends and also the old ones. But I could always celebrate it with them anytime anyday. People who celebrated my birthday with me last year... Well, let's just say they have their own worlds now and we have parted ways.

Right now, I am posting live from Genting Highlands, on the first day of my vacation alone! I will be heading back to Ipoh tomorrow to celebrate my birthday with my family on Wednesday. Yes, I am here alone may I remind you and yes, I am getting weird looks from people. What? Can't a girl have her own privacy and enjoy her vacation alone? XD

I took a van down this morning, leaving Ipoh at about 8.30am. I dozed off once in a while, realizing I am snoring and tried to keep awake the rest of the journey. Yes, I snore. Therefore if you plan to stay a night with me, do bring ear plugs. This is a warning... and a gentle reminder...

I arrived at First World Hotel at about 11.30am. I didn't have to queue much for my room as I have bought it beforehand and checked in right away! I got into my room and chillax while I charged my iPhone. The battery was dying as I played with it throughout the second half of the journey here... And of course, I camwhored...

The mist outside was so much that I felt like I was above the clouds!!!

At first, my plan was to get my phone charged then head on to the outdoor theme park. Then, I saw adverts on billboards along the way up and on tv about Freeze 2, which was like a performance on ice! With magic shows and acrobats. I am a sucker for things like these, what more watch it live? So I spent no more time in getting tickets for myself.

As I reached the counter for Freeze 2, just outside the Genting International Showroom, I asked for tickets and they told me that I am eligible to get tickets for only RM2, when the original price is RM85! All I had to do was to print out the redemption voucher from the kiosk and deduct 1GP from my points. I did as told and instead of giving me the RM85 tickets, they gave me VIP seats, which was worth RM115!!! It;s my lucky day!!!

Then, I printed out more redemption vouchers for my meal!!! I was wondering what to eat the whole day since everything here is overpriced. Little did I know that I still had points to redeem a bowl of duck noodles!!!

It was a pretty big bowl though!!!

I then walked around for some window shopping since it was a little too late for the theme park and I was getting lazy. After all, I will be here again in a few weeks for Jolin's concert! I spotted Chatime above me as I was heading back to my hotel and couldn't resist. I redeemed my birthday drink!!! Another free item for the day!!!

Headed back and rest for a while, watched some TV and some movies on my lappie.

Chillaxed til 7pm, took my bath and finally head out again to take a look at the night scenery from a garden opposite Theme Park Hotel.

Then, it was time to get to Freeze 2!!!

The show started with a funny guy. Nowadays, there always is at least a funny guy to interact with the audience. That's what makes it interesting. He was playing his saxaphone just right behind me. Then, he went on stage and invited a few audiences to do some silly stuff...

Then, a violinist appeared on stage after, while skating around the rink. However, I think that her playing wasn't in sync with the music... I think it's fake...

Here's a candid shot... real candid as we were not supposed to take any pictures. Therefore please forgive me for my far or blurry pictures...

My favourite would be the acrobatics and also the ballroom dancers. They did a very good job. I didn't get to take pictures as they were very strict with photography at the start of the show...

I took pictures of one of them which blew my mind... Her name is Wan Tong Tong, if I am not mistaken. She's a kid from China and she balanced herself on 8 chairs, stacked on top of a table and did stunts!!! WOW! Without any safety gear! I was so worried for her...

The other one that took my breathe away was the female magician. You don't see a female magician just anywhere. She is so cool! She had some acts that left my jaw open! She made herself disappear right in front of our eyes, and get a giant screw to dive into her, and drag her up and about!!! OH MY GOSH!!!

Overall, it was a very good performance though the beginning was a little boring and bad... Perhaps they needed a warm up... The end, they sang a birthday song after hald the audience left. They celebrated amongst themselves, a performer's birthday...

After the show, I walked to the nearby Starbucks to redeem my free slice of birthday cake as my dinner/supper and also a cup of free drink.

More pictures to be uploaded tomorrow or when I get home because the internet here seems to take forever. It took me more than an hour just to load the pictures above!!! Crazy! And I am freezing in this open air Starbucks! My fingers are starting to feel numb... Oh well... Stay tuned to more updates on what I'm gonna do tomorrow!!!

Greatest cheapest vacation I could ever have....
