Ju Xing and Sue Synn's wedding

Love is in the air today. It's a very good day for special occasions I guess as many are having their wedding today. A friend of mine from church is getting married today, so is Timothy Tiah, the Nuffnang founder. Congrats to all of you who are starting a new chapter of your life.

Tonight, I attended a wedding of Ju Xing and Sue Synn, who is my brother-in-law's sister at Shangri-La Hotel.

We arrived earlier at the hotel to help out in their suite, have our make up done and also hair settings. I have had everything done beforehand so I just watched the makeup artists at their work. Also, I camwhored. LOL!

As I followed the bride and the groom down to the Grand Ballroom, the flower decorations blew me away. There were Sakura flowers everywhere. It was a Japanese themed wedding. Everyone was standing around, chatting with their friends as they enjoyed their cocktails. Beer, wine and finger food were served before we entered for the dinner. Everyone was beautifully dressed in their gowns, suits and it looked absolutely formal.

We walked into the grand ballroom which was filled with Sakura flower decorations above our heads. The lights and ambience made us all feel at home. It was absolutely nothing like a normal wedding would. The table settings were so nice. Roses and candle lights, making it so romantic. The door gift was two bottles of honey, which resembled the "sweet" couple I suppose.

Seated down, we could hear beautiful classical music being played by a string quartet. At first, I thought they were putting up a CD, which most weddings do. Then, at the corner of my eye, I realized that it was music being played LIVE by MPO. It sounded exactly like a CD.

The bride and groom made their grand entrance into the hall after the bridesmaids, best men and family members. They went straight up to the stage for a cake cutting ceremony. Soon after, dinner was served individually.

First, we had Poached Rock Lobster Medallion with Ikura Caviar on Caramelized Mango. It was perfumed with Summer Black Truffle Dressing and Fresh Salad Bouquet with Sweet Sesame Vinaigrette. It was delicious.

Then, we had Mini Buddha Jump Over the Wall, which most of you would know it as 佛跳墙. Double-boiled Superior Broth with Ginseng, Fish Mew, Black Chicken, Hokkaido Dired Scallop, Air-dried Shitake Mushroom and Bamboo Pith in a Young Coconut. I have never had this dish served in a coconut before. Such a great experience.

Next was a 9 hours Steamed Corn-fed Chicken with Herbal in Gold Foil.

"Forever" Braised Australian Abalone and Vegetable Parcel was next. It was very fresh and a very light dish. I could say its the best I have had so far. Other places tend to do too much for the sauce that it covers the taste of the abalone.

We had Miso Glazed Black Cod Fish Fillet and Grilled King Prawns with Sauteed Baby Vegetables next. It was so wonderfully displayed on the dish that it looked so wonderful on picture too!

The Lotus Leaf wrapped with Glutinous Rice fragrant got me eating all of it even though I was already 90% full. It was not dry, neither was it too moist. It was nicely done inside out.

For Dessert, we had two dishes. The first was Hazelnut Royaltine with Macaroon and Oolong Tea Ice-cream. Seldom will you get ice-cream as a dessert in a wedding and I was happy to have some tonight. I have not had ice-cream in a while.

They saved the best for last as the dessert was so well done that it was more of a decoration for me that something I would put into my stomach. The "百年好合" in Fuji Apple was 雪耳龙眼 presented in an apple! They clut off the top and bottom, dug out the filling and put the ingredients in! I ate the apple of the top, emptied the ingredients into my stomach before sipping the rest out of the apple. Absolutely something you don't see everyday.

The yumsing Session was definitely not left out in such an occasion.

As we had our meal, the bride and groom's dad took turns in giving their speech on how these two lovebirds got together and what they have gone through. It was not until the groom's speech that left both families in tears, so did his wife. He made a romantic and touching speech that was so romantic. He made a promise with everyone in the room to love his wife and she was the only one for him.

Dinner finally ended and everyone took turns in giving them their greetings and getting their pictures taken. I didn't get the chance to take a picture of them as I went up to the room to get my stuff. However, some friends and I did take a few photos. Here they are...

Dinner at My Burger Lab

Weeks ago, I heard from my friend about this place called "My Burger Lab" and how interesting it was, It was said that you could put together whatever you would like and have your burger your way. I was planning on going there but I had no idea to where it was at. The only way was to wait until that friend of mine brought me there.

This afternoon, as I was reading my news feed on my Tweetdeck, I saw Simon posting that he would be heading there and asked if anyone would join him for dinner. I happily replied his tweet and we made arrangements to meet up and head for dinner! I was looking forward to it as I really had not much of an idea of how the place would be like.

We arrived there about 6.30pm, looking for parking in the area. The parking is limited and if you're lucky, you might just get one right in front of the shop. In our case, we parked further away behind the shop. It was located at Sea Park, which was very near to SS2. Simon advised me earlier to get there earlier to avoid the crowd as there will be a large crowd. The interior was simple yet nice. It was even quite homely.

A waiter gave us some tips and explained to us while we looked at the board. Instead of thinking of how to customize our burger, we both just took the easy way out. We ordered whatever that was on the set. As we gave our order and paid for our meal, we noticed this at the counter! How cool...

Here's the kitchen and the very busy staff. I can say one thing about the staff here. There's loads of them and service is near to perfect. They can clean up the tables as soon as customers left and they made sure every new customer knew what to order.

Here's some pictures of the interior there. Felt so awkward when people started looking at me while I took photos. They must have thought like "Is she taking a photo of me?" Perasan moment. LOL!

Simon told me to embrace myself and be prepared to wait for at least half an hour for my burger. Burgers were all made fresh, so we had to expect to wait a little longer. I was okay with it since I was not super hungry at that moment.

We sat together with two of his friends who we bumped into, Marcus and Hitomi. We chat a little before their food came and we wasted no time in taking pictures of their meal.

Marcus's burger was "Beautiful Mess". Simon ordered the same thing. They both were also wearing the same coloured Tee. Talk about BRO-mance.

This one below is Hitomi's burger, "Say Cheese". They both ordered an ala carte burger instead of getting a set.

Instead of waiting for half an hour or more, my burger was delivered to me in just approximately 20 minutes. For myself, I ordered a set since you only needed to add RM5 for fries and refillable drinks with no limit. I was a sucker for fries so of course I went with it! I ordered the "Hangover Burger", not because I was having a hangover of course but because it had Hash Brown in it. I'm a sucker for potatoes. HAHA!

The fries were great! Nothing you can find in McD, KFC or any other fast food joints.

The boss then came by, as Simon was a friend of his. He talked to us, asking for opinions and comments. We got to know that this place is and would be Halal because there are also Malay people who walks in, getting the burger the way they wanted. Here's a picture of Simon and the boss, with the very awesome Troll picture on his shirt.

At the moment, they are still hiring! Looking for a job? It seems like quite an awesome place to work at. You will be provided with their staff Tee too! Every staff working there had their uniform and it seemed quite professional.

The burgers were well done. You definitely have to drop by to try it for yourself!
