Happy Malaysia Day!

It's Malaysia Day! It's a day for unity and celebration but many of us are hiding in our hometowns away from the havoc that was rumoured to happen. 

Whatever it is, I was glad that this is the day I got to wake up later than I usually do and spend some time with my friends. 

And not forgetting, today is also the day my Cover Story got published on Ipoh Echo!!! Show some love as you read in this link! Going Ape For Vape!

Got to Hollywood for Brunch at 11am with my colleague Ili from Ipoh Echo and had Joanna join us afterwards. It was a Ipoh Echo youngsters gathering. It was only when Ily told me that I knew most local reporters hang out and eat at Hollywood most of the time too! Yay Hollywood!!!

Had a drink with Ili at Stadium after that. We just had to have Coffee King, a cup of crazy big ass local drink that beats Chatime and all that franchise drinks anytime. RM5 for a cup of that. You have no idea how long it can last you! Coffee King has 2 stalls along the roads of Meru and Cempaka, and shop right next to my mom's stall in stadium now! It seems like people are queueing to get their orders everyday at the Meru and Cempaka branch. What's the reason to it? I'll leave it to you to find out.

I then went driving around for work purposes with my Bestie since she had some time to spare. After all that, we thought of grabbing a drink at Coffee Tag but it was closed. We then ended up at Konda Kondi Cafe which was located right opposite SOS. I have always wanted to give it a try.

The first thing we found out was an ice-cream booth right outside, named after Freddo Street Ice Cream, at the corner of Konda Kondi. We thought of giving it a shot when we saw them frying the ice cream. The pricing was super reasonable and the toppings given was definitely rich compared to some high class places which charges a large sum for toppings...

Freddo Street Ice Cream stall can be found here daily. There is also a truck that goes around Ipoh selling Freddo Ice Cream!!!  

We took a seat at Konda Kondi, ordered some drinks and enjoyed our ice cream. I ordered a Konda coffee, which was the specialty there while bestie ordered a Gudang Garam coffee, which tasted weirdly interesting. We assumed that there was some cinnamon added into the coffee.  My Konda Coffee was made out of coffee and whipped cream with oreo bits on the top. Nothing very extreme but it was good.

We saw the staff bringing out western food with chicken chops and such which looked very delicious. However we were looking forward to our own dinner so we passed on it. We shall have a trip there one day for the food.

Having time to catch up with people you haven't met for years is great. It was a very nice day spent with friends.

Good Friday everyone!

How has your Friday been so far? It is a very good day for me today. I got to have breakfast with my niece before I got to work today, had no trouble with the bus (which was always nowhere in sight), then I received a very interesting SMS.

It appears I have won 2 tickets for iLuminate: Artist of Light at Resort World Genting from Hitz FM, in conjunction with Genting's 50th Anniversary! I remember just stumbling upon Hitz FM website to look for something and came across the contest. It is one of those "Fill in the blanks, why you would like to win passes" kind of contest. I have never been selected for these kind of contests and this being the first, got me jumping for joy!

The bonus for this contest was that I would win a room stay at Genting too! Time for a holiday that I have always needed. I have not been to Genting in a while now. Time for a 2 day relaxation.

iLuminate is actually a dance group who dress in black as they fuse music, dance and technology using synchronized LED light displays for a WOW effect. You can check them out in the video below.

So who and what exactly is iLuminate? Let me give you a little idea of their background.

iLuminate is a company based on the fusion of technology and dance from New York. They have competed at America's Got Talent in 2011 and made several international appearances. You can easily see them on stage with Grammy-winning superstars such as Christina Aguilera, The Black Eyed Peas, David Guetta, Chris Brown, etc. You may have also seen them on the Ellen DeGeneres show!!!

Don't miss out on the show! It has started since 3rd April and will be on til 28th June 2015 at the Genting International Showroom!!! It starts at 8.30pm and lasts for 75 minutes! (I wonder where they get all that energy...)

Dream Trip to Macau

I finally had the chance to visit Macau last month. However, it was a very short trip as I arrived at noon and I was rushing back to Hong Kong the next afternoon. I did not get to do much around Macau and I hope to go there again soon.

As I came back to Malaysia, I found out that there was a contest that is held by Nuffnang together with the Macau Government Tourist Office (MGTO). 3 Nuffnangers with the most interesting Blog posts on their dream trip to Macau will be flying to Macau to experience a 3D2N all expenses paid holiday (including return air ticket and 2 nights accommodation at a 4-star hotel). This is my opportunity to try and win a holiday back to Macau to continue my uncompleted tour!!!

What exactly are the three most amazing things that make me want to revisit Macau? It would be nothing more than Sightseeing, Food and The House on Dancing Water.

Sightseeing. This is the one thing I missed out a lot during my trip. I had no clue what to expect in Macau as my friends told me to leave it all to them. Little did I know that there were not much on their minds. 

Buildings are very unique in this city, even the floors. You can find many kinds of buildings here, from historical to modern architectures and all the casinos are colourfully lit up at night. How could one visit this city without a camera to capture all the beautiful images? I definitely could not.

   

As for food, many have told me Macau is a food paradise, not just for its Portugese Tarts. With the help of my friends, I managed to find some places with good food that could not be found on travel magazines. There were local delicacies and also desserts that gave me a foodgasm.

Dim Sum in Macau is very different compared to Malaysia. They are absolutely delicious.

  

I also had the chance to have some street food by the beach!

Last but not least, House on Dancing Water is the highlight of the trip. I was late for the show previously and missed about 10 to 15 minutes of the show because we were not allowed in for being late. I was so sad. However, it was a very good show, money well spent. It was amazing how water could fill up the entire stage in seconds and also vanish the same way! What made me tear up was the bikers and their stunts. It was so amazingly dangerous I couldn't help my excitement. It was a great birthday treat for myself.

I love travelling and I also love travelling at my own pace. I do not like to rush in holidays and so in my previous Macau trip (click HERE to read about it), I didn't get to enjoy much. So please, Nuffnang and Macau Government Tourist Office (MGTO), grant me the chance to revisit this wonderful city and see more of its culture at my own pace. 3 day would be the best ideal time to spend at Macau.
