Bali Trip 3rd Dec-7th Dec 2013

Finally, a trip I have been waiting for. For months and years I have tried to save up for a trip out of the country but I always fail. Thanks to my sister-in-law and my brother, I get to go to Bali AGAIN! Yes, I was here last year and here I am again. I tend to go to places I have been to year after year. However, I do enjoy my trips. My sister-in-law sponsored my air tickets and my brother sponsored my stay for this trip as my birthday present! I am so blessed! They invited me just a few months before and knowing I don't have a budget for a far away getaway, they decided to sponsor me.

Day 1

We finally got here about noon. We were welcomed by a crowd of tourists and hotel staff at the entrance. It took us quite some time to find our names on the board of the hotel we were staying. It is the first time I actually needed to look for a board. Anantara Vacation Club arranged a staff to pick us up from the airport. He helped us with the luggage and offered us drinks and wet towels upon arrival!

           

While my brother, sister-in-law, baby and I went to sit in our cozy arranged van by the vacation club, Kar Shing, Ary, Alan and Ming Choon settled their rental for the van and asked for brief directions.

    Look at how happy baby Stephie is on her holiday! They brought a van with a baby chair in it.        

Here's a statue which you would pass by every time you leave the airport. I guess there must be an interesting history behind this statue.

        As we arrived Anantara Vacation Club, we were delighted to see the pool right at the lobby. You can sit back and relax here, enjoying the stars at night.     We were once again welcomed with a cup of refreshing mint drink.     Here's how it looks like walking to our villas.    

As we walked into our 2-room private villas, we were very satisfied with what we saw. Here's a picture of my brother's room. It's special because they were celebrating their anniversary and therefore a special decoration and setting.

             Here's out kitchen and hall. It is half surrounded by the pool.     Here's the outside view from the hall.     Our private pool!     And here is my room!!! That's my Mickey travelling bag.         I love the bathroom!!! Although it is a little scary to have glass everywhere but I love the concept.                 Not forgetting the big mirror in the bathroom!!! You can see yourself from the room if you leave the bathroom door open.    

It was getting late and everyone was starving as hell. We needed to find some fast food pronto and we ended up at Burger King! It's my first time having Burger King somewhere than Malaysia.

 

  Since everyone was quite tired, we just headed to a nearby supermarket and bought some food to cook at our private villa for breakfast the next day.

Day 2

Ming Choon and Alan cooked us breakfast!!!

Went back to the room after breakfast and DIY'ed my very loose top into a tube top. Such satisfaction.

Ain't my little niece the swaggest cutest girl ever? HAHA!!! 

      Stephie's showing her mama some love.   And that's how she looks like when she gets some back. HAHA!!!     Today, we headed out to Kuta for some shopping.    I wonder what this sign stands for. No Susans allowed maybe? LOL!     This signage here reminds me of kopi... but why Kopi on a rock? ^^             Malaysians complain about double parking. What about Bali? Triple or Quadruple parkings are seen!!!          Here's a cute van. If only I could do something like that to my car...     We decided to take a short walk on the beach after shopping since there was parking on the side.                                

When holidaying with me, be prepared to be on candid camera. I can sometimes be a photographer wannabe. Although I don't have steady hands and a big ass camera. I am quite satisfied with my camera BTW.

For dinner, we headed to Potato Head, one of the popular places to have dinner beside the beach. On the way there, I saw this very beautiful red flower. I have a thing with flowers and as a photographer wannabe, I test out my camera again.

    Our walk from the main road to Potato Head.         Here's a Potato Head van. So cute and vintage!         To eat here, one must follow their regulations...      Potato Head has a very unique design. It is filled with windows! Old Windows!    

Since we didn't make a reservation in advance, we had to line up early to get a table. We had our fingers crossed on having a table before sunset.

     Here's how the pathway looks like. Sorry. Was walking as I took this shot.      We got in before the sun set!! YEAH!!! Too bad we couldn't get a seat right in front.         Walked down to the beach to take some shots of the beach and also the sunset.                         They had a girl DJ spinning too.     Here's pictures of me and Ary on the beach.                 Finally, we went back to our dinner tables and got some food. We were hot and tired from all that walking today.     Here's my refreshing Lemonade. I have a thing with sour stuff and lemonade. YUM!     Our Appetizer... It reminds me of Pai-Tee.     My Main Course!     When we got back, we all just jumped into the pool and enjoyed the night with beer we bought from a hypermart in front of our vacation club.             We got a little hungry from jumping into the pool and all. Ary then cook some Bacon and Eggs for us.             Day 3

We had lunch at Chandi Restaurant after taking a tour around the area. After several attempts of finding a parking, we ended up at Chandi.

    I love the fans here. It's like a flower!         I had the seafood rice, which had very specially spiced rice. It was yummy.     And also dessert, ice cream to cool off the hot weather!     Here's our payment! Look at the ZEROS! Don't you feel like a millionaire?     We decided to take a tour at Anantara Resort. Here's a sneak preview of the Resort.                   There's a bar there which we were going to come to at night since we have some vouchers to spend on. It seems pretty breezy. It's called SOS, which is not the same as our Sensation of Sound club in Ipoh.                

Then, we WAZEd our way to Ulu Watu for sight seeing. It was so jammed that it seemed like everyone was heading the same way! Also the roads in Bali is really narrow and it is impossible to have a smooth traffic. The only thing I looked forward to was this Kuih which I ate last year. Apparently, now the aunty I bought from already has more competitors. There were 2 or 3 more people selling beside her. She was the only one selling last year. This time, I have to say it wasn't as good as it used to be. Disappointed.

    Here's some shot of everyone...                          And then came sunset. I am a sunset person. I LOVEEEEEE Sunsets. It brings so much colours to the skies!                 Finally, we were starving after getting out of town. We used the map this time to find a recommended dinner place by KS's parents. It's called Naughty Nuri's. It serves pork! We all had ribs.                         Here's their toilet "curtains"! So interesting and creative!             Here's my rib. It's so delicious and big!     Group shot time!         After dinner, I walked to the shop next door, which was Naughty Nuri's souvenir shop. Look at their Mural.         I ended up buying some piggy super heroes as souvenirs. It was cute...   Day 4

Today is the last day we get to roam around town. I went to get my Bali tumblr at Starbucks. I failed in getting a unique tumblr which I started collecting from all over the world starting from the beginning of the year. We got to have small cups of gingerbread drink as a tester. It smelled horrible and I didn't even dare try it. Apparently it was bad, says Allen.

           

Night came and we had dinner at Anantara Resort. They were having a buffet set. We ate dinner right in front of the cultural dance. Talk about VIP tables. There wasn't much variety for dinner. 

    What's better than a walk on the beach after dinner?               In case of tsunami, what do you do?         I saw stuff moving on the fine sand. Could you make a guess what they were?    

BABY CRABS!!! It was surely hard to catch them. Just look how they camouflage with the sand and imagine how fast they disappear.

        We went to SOS for drinks. Here's the view.         Drinks on the house. YUM!           That wraps up my Bali trip of the year. Day 5? Yeah, I was on plane. Nothing much to blog about that... See you soon!!! Stay tuned for more yeah?
